As a Senior Software Engineer, you will assist our project teams to deliver innovative software solutions to the construction industry. You will have full-stack PHP and Javascript development experience, preferably using the Laravel and React frameworks. Here’s some of what you will be working on each week:

• Developing solutions using our current technology stack

• Provide high-quality solutions to business requirements using techniques such as TDD, end-to-end testing and automated acceptance tests

• Participating in peer code review as both reviewer and reviewee

• Work collaboratively with your peers, other departments and stakeholders to ensure high-quality outcomes

• Work with modern cloud-native technologies such as AWS lambda, AWS Fargate and Terraform

• Maintain an outcomes-focus with respect to solution design

• Deliver features in collaboration with a product team to a fortnightly sprint cadence.

• Manage technical debt by identifying areas for improvement and completing tasks aimed at removing legacy code

• Participate in all agile ceremonies including daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, reviews, retrospectives and planning

• Provide advice to stakeholders regarding appropriate solutions to technical problems

• Work to improve our team’s overall proficiency in development techniques by advocating for best practice

• Building hybrid mobile applications for iOS and Android using React Native

Skills and experience that will help you to be successful in this role:

• 5+ years working as a Full Stack Developer, building and scaling web applications using PHP and JavaScript

• Commercial experience in using the Laravel framework or similar modern PHP MVC framework

• 3+ years of commercial experience with ReactJS or similar

• Exposure to modern utility-first CSS frameworks such as Tailwind

• Ability to work within an Agile development team

• Proficient at writing and maintaining automated tests

• Experience working with AWS

• Dedicated team member that enjoys working collaboratively

• A resourceful, self-starting attitude with the ability to think and solve problems creatively
